Where and why do you go to church?
While many may find Lutheran worship “outdated” and less than exciting, it certainly is not. It offers and gives to sinners God’s mercy and forgiveness and life everlasting through faith in Christ Jesus and His blood shed upon the cross. It is a service to meet our greatest needs through Word and Sacrament.

Church neither rules nor is ruled by political might
Many church organizations and church bodies are ruled by political might when they should be ruled and governed solely by the Word of God. It happens in local congregations and it happens in national and international church bodies. Decisions regarding doctrine, worship and mission work are determined by the group in power, whether that be a simple majority, a group of pastors or elders or a group of delegates. And whichever group has the political power wins and its favored doctrine and practice are forced upon the rest of the congregation or church body — that is, until another group gains the political might to change things.

My mom doesn’t know me anymore
My mom doesn’t know me anymore. She says I look familiar and is happy to see me but can’t quite place me. Apparently, I must look a little like someone she once knew and went to school with years ago, or maybe she faintly remembers me. She has asked me if I know certain classmates of hers and if I am older than she is or younger. I tell her who I am, but she doesn’t remember for long.
