  • Has God given our nation and people over to uncleanness, vile passions, and a debased mind because of our rejection of Him? Is this why truth no longer matters and people run headlong into sexual immorality and all sorts of wickedness and sin? Has He turned us over to our own evil ways so that we might receive the just recompense for our sins?

  • Why were so many of his fellow Jews not saved? Because they did not know of God’s imputed righteousness for Christ’s sake and sought their own righteousness based upon their obedience to the law.

  • If we turn away from Christ and back into sin, we justly earn the wages and penalty for our sins, which is death and the eternal wrath of God. If, by the grace of God, we continue trusting in Christ Jesus and His atoning sacrifice for our sins, God’s gracious gift to us is forgiveness for all our sins and eternal life for Jesus’ sake.

  • The close of Romans 5 points out that where sin abounded, grace abounded even more (5:20). So, should we take advantage of the richness of God’s grace toward us in Christ and continue on in our old sinful ways?
